Bulgari Resort Dubai

The Bulgari Resort & Residences Dubai

Location: Jumeira Bay, an island shaped like a seahorse and linked to Dubai coastline by a 300m bridge. The atmosphere is quiet and peaceful but definitely not secluded as there is easy access to things like Dubai mall, restaurants and bars.

Design: The style of the resort is modern with classic Italian touches throughout. I felt like I was in a Mediterranean village far away from the skyscrapers typically associated with Dubai. The quality of the accessories and finishes in the room were outstanding, a cashmere throw on the bed, silk fabric walls and a vintage trunk style mini bar.

All 101 rooms come with a spacious private balcony over looking the sea and Dubai skyline, marble bathroom with separate rain shower and deep soaking tub. The room I stayed in was called the Deluxe Beach View room. The room comes with an ipod, Apple TV and all lights are digitally controlled. The balcony view was jaw dropping daily.

What I ate and drank: There is a wide selection of in-house dining options. Breakfast is served daily at Il Cafe which over looks the marina, the views are beautiful and the menu selection and choice feels endless. Dinner at Il Ristorante Niko Romito, was such a treat, simple Italian dishes cooked very well. I regretted not ordering pasta the minute I saw my partner’s plate of pesto pasta, however I was very impressed with my monkfish and we shared a lovely bottle of red wine, Tignanello, which I’ve heard is Megan Markle’s favourite. I ate and drank very well that evening I felt like a princess!

Special touches: There was so many! Each room comes with a complimentary beach bag which comes in very handy and the selection of toiletries in the bathroom smell and feel incredible. There was a relaxing herbal tea delivered to the room every evening in a flask and a wide selection of marshmallows and jelly beans in the lobby daily. The icing on the cake was the boxed departure gift which was very unexpected and thoughtful.

Perfect for: A long romantic weekend in a stylish and luxurious setting. I don’t have children but I can see that this a very child friendly resort, with entertainment options as part the kid’s club and I hear they do child size, sensitive versions of all amenities and mini bathrobes and slippers.

Would I go back: In a heart beat, this is worth every penny of the splurge. The service I received from every single staff member was out of this world. The exclusive island base, high end furnishing and surroundings make this resort faultless in my opinion.
